Acupuncture in London

When an ache keeps returning or an injury makes everyday movement uncomfortable, you may have questions about your treatment options. At Advanced Chiropractic, acupuncture is offered by a chiropractor as an adjunct to chiropractic care for suitable musculoskeletal concerns.

An Option Within Your Chiropractic Care

Acupuncture involves inserting very fine needles at selected points. Before recommending it, your chiropractor reviews your symptoms and health history and performs an examination. Your findings help determine whether acupuncture belongs in your care plan. You’ll have time to discuss the proposed approach, potential benefits, risks, and alternatives before deciding whether to proceed.

Recommendations Based on Your Assessment

Acupuncture may be considered as part of care for certain musculoskeletal pain conditions. It isn’t recommended simply because an injury is old or recovery is taking longer than expected. Your chiropractor will explain how the recommendation relates to your assessed condition and discuss other care options or referral when needed.

An Unhurried First Visit

Your first appointment takes about an hour. Chiropractor Dr. Rebecca Slota begins with a health history and examination, including questions about how your symptoms started and what makes them better or worse. If acupuncture is clinically suitable and you give informed consent, treatment may begin that day. Positioning and needle placement depend on the area being addressed and your comfort.
The proposed frequency of visits is individualized, with your response reviewed along the way.

What Treatment Can Feel Like

People experience acupuncture differently. You may notice a brief prick, an ache, or another sensation around a needle. Let your chiropractor know if anything feels uncomfortable so she can assess and respond. You’re welcome to ask questions before or during the appointment.

Talk Through Your Options

If persistent pain or an injury is interfering with your routine, an assessment can help you understand whether acupuncture may be suitable as part of chiropractic care. Call Advanced Chiropractic at (519) 601-4325 to arrange your visit.
